Berkeley LEARNS / We Rock

Thousand Oaks’ Berkeley LEARNS Program, also known as We Rock after school, runs from school release through 6:00 pm daily on all days the school is open.

 

Academic Support, Activities/Enrichment including sports like flag football, basketball, track, volleyball, and soccer, nutrition and cooking, a variety of art classes, weaving, chess, book club, spirit, creative writing, typing, photography, and more. Kindergarten: Because of the size of our campus here at Thousand Oaks we are able to dedicate time and space to the special needs of our youngest students, supporting their growth and adaptation to the new school environment! Every day our Kindergarten students participate in Academic Support and Enrichment Classes.

The Berkeley School is opening its afterschool program TK-6th students to meet the needs of local families in the community. Information can be found here.  The program includes Spanish classes daily and movement/games/PE classes Mondays and Wednesdays.  Additional enrichment classes (carpentry, gymnastics, judo, maker/STEAM, hip hop, chess, etc.) are available for additional fee.

 

IFlip Gymnastics Academy (may have bus transit from TO if enough kids signed up)

 

El Cerrito Martial Arts (scroll down if website looks blank at the top; recommended by the family of a TO student who did not have a space in LEARNS and attended last year)  

 

Albany Friendship Club - reportedly a few spots left for this fall; takes BUSD kids but no transport.

 

Berkeley Youth Alternative - located downtown and provides transportation from BUSD schools 

 

Hummingbird Montessori Preschool - located across from Cornell school and offering pickup from Thousand Oaks. Open House Sunday August 23rd @ 10:00 am-12:30 pm. Visit the website or call Jeanne Devin at 510-375-1279.
